Project Overview
Saray Design Group provided architectural design and permit documentation services for Cave Pilates, a new fitness studio occupying approximately 1,300 square feet at 31 Orland Square Drive in Orland Park, Illinois. The project involved transforming a raw tenant shell into a functional Pilates studio complete with a small support area for vanity and hair dressing, serving the studio’s post-workout amenity needs.
SDG’s scope was focused and efficient: deliver a clean, well-coordinated architectural permit set and a conceptual interior rendering to give the client a clear vision of the finished space before construction began.

The Challenge
Fitting a functional Pilates studio into a compact 1,300 SF tenant shell required thoughtful space planning to balance the open workout floor, support areas, and code-compliant circulation. With plumbing, mechanical, and electrical design intentionally excluded per the client’s direction, SDG’s architectural scope needed to be precisely bounded while still producing a complete, permit-ready drawing set and a rendering that meaningfully conveyed the studio’s design intent.

Our Approach
  • Reviewed existing conditions information and conducted a basic code review applicable to an interior tenant buildout in Orland Park
  • Developed a space plan for the Pilates studio floor, optimizing layout for equipment, movement, and circulation within the 1,300 SF footprint
  • Designed a small support area for hair dryers, vanity, and hair dressing to complement the studio’s post-class amenity offering
  • Prepared a full architectural permit drawing set suitable for Village of Orland Park submission
  • Coordinated with the Village plan review process, responding to comments within the architectural scope
  • Produced one conceptual interior rendering based on client-provided inspiration imagery, illustrating spatial character, material tone, and lighting intent to align the client’s vision before construction

Deliverables
  • Architectural permit drawing set, signed and sealed
  • One conceptual interior rendering illustrating overall design intent
  • Documents prepared for Village of Orland Park submission
  • Permit review comment coordination for architectural scope
